Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking or paying a deposit with Hydra Charters, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions on behalf of yourself and all passengers in your group.
Booking & Deposit
A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your charter date. The remaining balance is due on the day of the charter. We accept bank transfer and card payments.
Cancellation Policy
- —Cancellations made more than 15 days before the charter date will receive a full refund.
- —Cancellations made 15 days or fewer before the charter date will forfeit the deposit.
- —If Hydra Charters cancels due to bad weather or unsafe conditions, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no extra cost.
Captain's Authority
The captain has full and final authority over all decisions relating to the safety and operation of the vessel, and all passengers are required to follow the captain's instructions at all times. The captain's authority includes, but is not limited to:
- —Unexpected return: If at any point the captain determines that sea or weather conditions pose a risk to the safety of passengers or crew, the charter may be cut short. No refund will be issued for time not completed in such circumstances.
- —Route changes: The captain may alter the planned route at any time if conditions require it.
- —Departure delays: If conditions are unsuitable at the scheduled departure time, the captain may delay departure or cancel the trip. In the event of a cancellation by us, the full deposit will be refunded.
Passenger Capacity
The vessel has a maximum passenger capacity as required by Greek maritime law. Hydra Charters reserves the right to refuse boarding to any passengers that would exceed this limit, and no refund will be issued in such circumstances where the excess passengers were not disclosed at the time of booking.
Passenger Conduct
All passengers are expected to behave in a manner that ensures the safety and comfort of everyone on board. The captain reserves the right to refuse boarding or return to port early if any passenger's behaviour endangers the vessel, crew, or other guests. No refund will be issued in the event of early termination due to passenger conduct.
Alcohol & Substances
Moderate and responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted on board. Hydra Charters operates a zero-tolerance policy for illegal substances. The captain reserves the right to refuse boarding or terminate the charter without refund if any passenger appears dangerously intoxicated or is found in possession of illegal substances.
Liability & Indemnification
Passengers board and participate entirely at their own risk. Hydra Charters is not liable for personal injury, illness, death, or loss or damage to property sustained during the charter. By making a booking, all passengers agree that Hydra Charters, its crew, and its representatives cannot be held responsible for any claims, losses, or legal action arising from participation in the charter. We strongly recommend that all guests hold valid travel insurance. Swimming is permitted at the captain's discretion and is entirely at the passenger's own risk. Hydra Charters and its crew are not liable for any injury, accident, or incident that occurs while passengers are in the water.
Force Majeure
If we cancel your charter before departure due to bad weather, unsafe sea conditions, or mechanical failure, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no extra cost. If a mechanical issue arises during the charter and forces an unexpected return, a partial refund will be issued for the time not completed. For circumstances entirely outside our control — such as port closures, strikes, or government restrictions — the deposit is non-refundable, but we will offer the option to reschedule at no extra cost.
Damage to the Vessel
Passengers are responsible for any damage caused to the vessel, its equipment, or fittings as a result of their actions or negligence. Hydra Charters reserves the right to charge the responsible party for the cost of repairs or replacement. We ask that any damage be reported to the captain immediately.
Personal Belongings
Hydra Charters takes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings brought on board.
Health & Medical Conditions
It is the responsibility of each passenger to inform us of any medical conditions, mobility limitations, or special requirements prior to boarding. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, but the captain has the right to refuse boarding if a guest's condition poses a safety risk.
Children & Non-Swimmers
Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times on board. Life jackets are available for all passengers and are mandatory for children. Non-swimmers are required to wear a life jacket before boarding and throughout the trip.
Passenger Documents
Greek maritime law requires all passengers to be registered on a crew list submitted to the Hellenic Coast Guard prior to departure. Passengers are required to provide accurate and genuine personal documentation — including valid passports or identity documents — upon request. By providing these documents, passengers confirm that the information is truthful and the documents are authentic. Hydra Charters will not be held liable for any consequences arising from the submission of inaccurate, false, or fraudulent documentation, and reserves the right to refuse boarding to any passenger who fails to provide valid identification.
Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Greece. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Greek courts.
