Local Knowledge
We know every cove, rock, and current around Hydra. That knowledge translates into better anchorages, safer sailing, and experiences that first-time visitors simply cannot find on their own.
Our Story
The Beginning
Hydra Charters was born from something simple: a belief that the best way to see Hydra is from the sea, and that the best way to experience the sea is privately — on your own terms, with people you care about.
Our captain grew up sailing these waters. He knows where the dolphins appear in July, which cove has the coldest, clearest water on a August afternoon, and the exact moment the Hydra sunset light turns the stone houses amber. That knowledge doesn't come from a guidebook.
We started with one boat, a philosophy of privacy, and a commitment to making each charter feel like something guests would talk about for years. That hasn't changed.

The Island
Hydra is protected by UNESCO as a site of outstanding natural beauty. By law, no cars, motorbikes, or bicycles are permitted. Donkeys carry luggage up cobbled paths. The harbour fills at sunset with sailing boats and locals watching the sky turn pink.
It is, genuinely, the most beautiful island in the Saronic Gulf — and one of the most extraordinary in all of Greece. Every year, artists, writers, architects, and film-makers return for the light, the silence, and the stone.
From the sea, you see a Hydra that the land simply cannot offer: the wild cliffs, the hidden pebble beaches, the underwater colour of the water at noon. We are your guides to this other side of the island.
Our Approach
We know every cove, rock, and current around Hydra. That knowledge translates into better anchorages, safer sailing, and experiences that first-time visitors simply cannot find on their own.
We treat every guest as a friend on their best day off. The small things matter: cold drinks when you want them, silence when you want silence, and laughter when the moment calls for it.
Hydra has no roads, no motor vehicles, no mass tourism. It is rare, unhurried, and extraordinary. The sea is its true heart — and that's where we take you.
We never share our boat. You'll never meet other groups or be herded into a schedule. The sea is yours for the day, and everything moves at your pace.
On Board
The moment you step aboard, the pace of life changes. The harbour noise fades. The engine hum settles into background rhythm. Someone hands you a cold drink.
There's no schedule to keep, no tour guide counting heads, no strangers crowding the rail. The deck is yours. The sea is wide. The day is long.
We make sure the boat is stocked, the music is right, and the anchoring spots are perfect. The rest — every hour, every choice — is yours.
